Ok, so this isn't the most professional business webpage you've ever seen. Especially for a company that primarily builds websites. What's up with that? Well... there's a story (isn't there always?) and it goes something like this:
Small family business starts up in 1999, right before the Dot-Com bubble explodes (there goes the IPO!). Company founders work hard and achieve a reasonable amount of success (which means they make a good living for themselves and a handful of subcontractors). Company moves several times, finally settling in Portland, Oregon in 2005. Aaaand... plot twists ensue. Founders get divorced (he gets $$, she gets the house and the business). The toolkit they were using finally reaches end-of-life (in their opinion, anyway) and becomes a liability instead of an asset. The economy tanks (again? yay!) and like everyone else, Company gets squeezed by customers looking for cheaper options and putting off projects. Yikes! And although a new corporate website is sorely needed, she is not a graphic designer and has yet to team up with a new one. She can, however, write copy like nobody's business. Typepad to the rescue! She hopes you enjoy the Portland skyline theme.
But what's this? A tidal flood of potential prosperity, heading from the West? It seems to be coming from Cupertino... could it be? Yes, it's iPhone!!! Much as she prefers to avoid jumping on bandwagons, this one cannot be ignored. Training is taken, studying is done and the result is:
furfly, LLC - Purveyor of
- fine Websites (we recommend Apple's WebObjects, but can be flexible)
- Managed Hosting that actually pays attention to your website
- and now (drumroll please) builder of custom iPhone Applications (in partnership with Codefab, LLC, who as of this writing is also working on a new site)
You will find no marketing here, no advertising spin, no jingles (maybe a cute catch phrase if we manage to come up with one). We will not oversell ourselves; we have turned down work we felt we were not qualified for or were too busy to take on at the time. We will tell you the truth as we see it, which is not the same as always being right. We do our best work for all clients, large and small, and believe that our reputation is the only marketing we should ever need. If that turns out not to be the case, we've probably done something wrong...
